Cheng Xiao is a Chinese singer, dancer, actress and former member of WJSN (우주소녀, also known as COSMIC GIRLS). She graduated from Seoul Performing Arts High School. Before arriving in South Korea, she studied Chinese dance for 10 years and won prestigious awards as a member of a dance crew.
She made her debut in February 2016 as WJSN's main dancer, vocalist, visual and face of the group with their first EP, "Would You Like?". In August of that year, she became part of a special promotional unit called Y-TEEN alongside fellow label mates MONSTA X. The unit was active as commercial models for a phone company.
The group was originally managed by Starship Entertainment (스타쉽엔터테인먼트) and Yuehua Entertainment (위에화엔터테인먼트), and both agencies focused on dividing the group into sub-units almost from the beginning. She was allowed to participate in a special group called SUNNY GIRLS (써니걸스) that was part of the Inkigayo Music Crush project. They debuted in November 2016 with the single "Taxi".
She went on hiatus in early 2018 as she promoted in China and debuted as a solo artist in December 2020 with the single "Focus-X". She never returned to WJSN, officially leaving the group when her contract expired in March 2023. She now continues her career as a singer and actress in China.
