Choo Young Woo is a South Korean actor affiliated with J-Wide Company (제이와이드컴퍼니). He graduated from Hansol High School (한솔고등학교) and is currently on leave from the Acting Department of Korea National University of Arts (한국예술종합학교).
During his high school years, he briefly considered becoming an idol after being scouted by JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트), but ultimately chose to pursue acting. To support his training, his family relocated from Sejong to Seoul so he could attend an acting academy.
He made his acting debut in 2021 with the web series You Make Me Dance (유 메이크 미 댄스).
In 2023, he received his first acting award, the "New Male Actor" award, at the Brand of the Year Awards. In 2025, he won the "Best New Actor in the Broadcasting Category" at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards for his performance in "The Tale of Lady Ok".
His father is Choo Seung Il (추승일) and his mother is Kang Seong Jin (강성진), both former models. His younger brother is actor Cha Jung Woo (차정우).
